Why am I running for City Council?
Through my seven years living here with my family I have had the privilege of seeing how this city truly is a community. From the pandemic to facing external pressures, residents of Pitt Meadows are always there for each other. I hope to give back to the place I call home and represent Pitt Meadows with a new and younger perspective.
The Platform
The time for change in Pitt Meadows is now
Liveable Community
More opportunities will lead to a better city.
- Expand and improve our outdoor spaces such as parks.
- Ensure a climate responsible future by encouraging walkable and transit friendly communities.
- Increase options for youth recreation through more program options and public facilities.
Local Economy
Work to support the small local businesses who contribute to our economy.
- Support commercial tenants from facing predatory rent increases by advocating to the provincial government for municipalities to have commercial rent control.
- Prioritize small businesses (which often produce more economic output) as opposed to large corporations through.
Housing
Pitt Meadows anticipates 5000 housing units in the next 20 years, with a current unmet need of over 1500 affordable housing units.
- Expand housing variety such as townhouses, multiplexes, and condos, with some new developments being mixed use, through zoning bylaws.
- Allow properties to have an accessory dwelling unit similar to a secondary suite.
Public Safety
Keep our community safe and protected.
- Ensure streets are safe place for people, not just cars, by improving road safety infrastructure such as intersection daylighting.
- Improve cycling infrastructure throughout the city with protected cycle lanes on major streets.
- Add lighting to parks and urban areas with a lighting gap.
